Hello everyone. I'm writing from the great country of Italy. This time, it is not vacation. I am here permanently (or at the very least until Elena gets her degree).

It will be a great adjustment I'm sure. I can't imagine such a big change in my life. The biggest change that has happened to me so far is that I've been away at college, and even then I returned once every 2 to 3 weeks.

My mom is taking the move the hardest. It was painful to see her so tearful, but she didn't tell me not to go or anything like that. I know it will be difficult for her, mostly because the last child has moved away.

I will write more about this later, because Elena is starving and we are going to our favorite pizzeria.

It seems I need to go by the police department within 8 days if I intend on staying in Italy. One of the things they said they would need is a photocopy of a credit card as proof I could purchase a plane ticket.

Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain this information if all but the last 4 digits of the credit card were visible? I just want to avoid revealing too much information if I can help it.

So I received the touristic visa, with a little difficulty...

Did you know that you need to have your passport stamped in london, *EVEN* if it is a connecting flight? There was no such place in Heathrow Airport, at least. They merely glanced at my passport and checked if the information was correct.

Unfortunately, that almost screwed me getting a touristic visa. They needed to know when I had entered london and consequently italy. However, we just had a statement signed by me stating that I had entered the country during those dates that they keep on record.

Afterall, how official is a stamp anyway? The officiality of an object is only as good as the difficulty of being able to duplicate that object.

However, another problem quickly arised. I need two documents. One of them is the atto notorio, which is a document saying I can legaly marry according to the US. And secondly is a affidavit called the nulla osta which is sworn by two witnesses saying I can marry.

I tried to take care of both in the states, and for what I knew, I did everything I could.

I hope this does not cause problems for later.
