Reading Ideas

After hearing much about the fun of spring break me and a friend have decided to travel through the US from the UK and end up in Florida or somewhere for Spring Break. We understand Cancun etc are also good spots but we really need some info. I have been to endless useless SB websites which are all to keen to take a payment for hotels and tours etc. What I really need is some basic advice about SB. When is it? What dates? Anything we should be particularly careful about?

Anyone know anything about this or any site links???

I know it's not for a while but we'd like to plan ahead.
