Reading Hardware

I have an amd duron 1400 but on the boot up screen and in the everest program it says i have a amd duron 1050 but this is definately wrong. I have recently taken my processor out to try a different one. It used to be recognised correctly as a amd duron 1400. Any one know whats happened?

Maybe your cpu is underclocked in bios settings. My friend had an amd cpu 1,8ghz, but the mainboard couldn't handle it (too low multiplier range).

He only could set it to something like 1600mhz in his bios and it showed like 1.6Ghz cpu.
