Ah, I can now see why this post has a bunch of replies....
that's a myopic view of the world. A problem with Americans is that we're selfish. This is exact sentiment that brands us as "Ugly Americans" when we travel. Or here in this country, for that matter.
My thought on this is that we should be like the rest of the globe and learn to speak more than one language. To my mind, that qualifies as good reason to learn another pesky foreign language.
(And I don't think Ebonics qualifies as a language, btw. )

I agree with that. Its like saying half assedly typing means you're using dialect.
