Weird Workplace

?% | 1

There are always times when you fall into a situation where you have to work with people that are too smart for you , everything they say goes right over your head and things you're made to do aren't so easy to accomplish. Working with these genius'es gets you stressed often but you learn a lot. You grow inwards , you find your own shortcomings ,work on them and get better with time.

Then there are times when you have to deal with a bunch of moron's , where you're almost like a king. You work the way you want. You have the flexiblity to do things as you please. Nobody else has the slightest idea about what's going on but you. Its like a never ending vacation , you get all the respect and praise for your work , your life is just as great as you can imagine. I'm sure nobody would dislike being treated that way.

But the question is for how long can you handle these people. So no matter who i choose to work with after a while things get boring for me , i lose patience to deal with either of them. I just don't know where i'd like to be , both seem to work for a while but none of them would work in the long run.

How do you cope with different people at work ? Is finding a new job the only solution ?

Re: Weird Workplace

In my experience, both utter morons and people who are superior to you in everything you/they do are the exception, at least at the places where I've worked so far. Most of the time me and my coworkers supplement each other, as each has their particular fields of expertise (or lack thereof). I'm used to asking people stuff and being asked stuff by people, and I'm very comfortable with that situation. Nobody knows everything; but the next best thing to knowing something is knowing who to ask. I think that's good for our team spirit, or something.

I've worked with some really nice people during my early years , when i just got graduated. But as i started moving up the ladder things began to change. I really don't mind asking for help or sharing what i know with anyone but i think there more to all this. To me it seems like these days workplaces have become more competitive than friendly. But yeah I agree .. Maybe I'm the one facing exceptional circumstances.
