Maybe old news to some, but a shock to me. I have read all the discworld books and have always been amazed at the wit and intelligence displayed by mr P. However I am not a rabid fan who trawls the net for anything Pratchett related therefore I was more than a little shocked that what was diagnosed originally as a stroke is now early onset alzheimers.
Even more shocking is the thought that, as an intelligent person myself, I could not bear my mind gradually going yet this is the fate he faces. I have also had a stroke so this has made me a little wary.
However Terry is bringing a well developed sense of humour to bear and we can only hope that the disease does not take his mind too soon or if it does that he will not have to suffer long. Maybe euthanasia isn't a bad idea after all.

Well .. according to his own statements, its a slowly developing form of Altzheimer. So he probably will live for the next 10 - 15 years without any problems.
I've just trying to ignore this fact. In his place, I wouldnt have told anyone about it, anyway.
