"Do you know I love you?"
I say this to my girlfriend of three years.
This month, May, is the anniversary month.
We've forgotten the exact day of our first "date".
I quote date as it is an odd thing to call it being that it was an unconventional series of events that brought us together.
For one I meet her a year and a half before our first date.
She was visually younger than. I assumed she was 13, but she was in fact 17.
"Yes", she replies.
I meet her while working at a retail store. She'd come in with some girlfriends who knew a friend of mine that I worked with. She was so much different than these girls. She obviously did not belong with the crowd with which she came. She was small than, brown haired, and has the largest green eyes with diamond shapes in the iris. I was immediately drawn to her radiant innocence.
"I wish everyone could know how beautiful you are to me", I say to her.
Another six months goes by and we run into each other at a small bar. This is were we exchange phone numbers.
More time passes and I find myself in the month of April 2005. I sit at a computer animating some cartoon for a project when suddenly, my phone vibrates.
It's her.
The text message says: "Hi".
I recall all that I remember of this girl whom last I saw was over half a year ago and my response is:
"Want to go to the movies tonight?"
We arrange a meeting at the book store without even speaking before hand.
