Audio programming with python

I'm currently trying to use the wave, audioop modules in python to manipulate wav,au audio files. Are there any better modules for audio programming aka audio file manipulation in python ?

I'd suggest you take a look at the IDJC project (Internet DJ Console), which is a Streaming Source for Icecast and Shoutcast servers. It's coded both in python as in C. It does require the use of Jack Audio Server, so it's basically limited to Unix derivates.

You can get its latest source code at: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Internet_DJ_Console
