What are YOU into?

hi folks!

what I wanted to know is: what are you into? music or scene that defines itself over some special kind of music? (eg. goth, metal, hip hop, etc.)

Metal has no laws. Metal is the law.

Classical: Stravinskij ,Orff, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Prokovjef, (to some extent) Verdi, and Opera.

Old music: 20s-30s Hellen Kane, Paul Withman etc.

Jazz: ONLY Billie Holyday and Charles Mingus

Contemporary:
Experimental/Noise/EBM/Industiral/Synth/Goth-folk: Imminent Starvation, Sonar, Converter, P.A.L., Pan Sonic, Einstürzende Neubauten(favorite), some Diamanda Galas and Throbbing Gristle, Soft Cell, some Welle:Erball, Death in June and "The Moon lay hidden beneath a Cloud". umm, and Fantômas?

60s: Velvet Underground and the Doors, liste to other stuff from this period to, but not that much.

The Soundtrack to Bladerunner(vangelis).

Old Sovjet military songs, and some old german(the russians are for the music quality, the german are for the nostalgia).

Old Speeches by Fidel Castro, Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, Chrustchev etc.

Various:
Corvus Corax, Radiohead(ok computer and amnesiac(or whatever it is called), old nintendo tunes, Philip Glass, Aphex twin and Feindflug. Also listen some to.... Rammstein(oh shame and public humiliation).

And, except some smaller singles like the tipparary song and Der Mussolini(DAF), that's about it.

Re: What are YOU into?

Im in to Modern-day music really. Incubus, Slipknot, Metallica, Mudvayne, Korn, Mushroomhead, System Of A Down, Spineshank, Taproot.. etc. But thats just the "New wave" music.. The best stuff is the old stuff like Pink Floyd and ABBA. Those people really knew how to rock. Back then, music was real.

Kastcheis' music selection seems damn good, bordering on bizarre which can be ok at times, perhaps even dangerous. very interesting indeed.

As for moi, i'm a big fan of 'The Wire' magazine and it influences me quite a bit when it comes to music selection. The latest edition comes with the scape compilation known as 'showcase' featuring acts such as deadbeat, thomas fehlmann, jan jelinek, pole, kit klayton and heaps more. Quite a nice selection of electronic clicks/glitches/beeps and all the rest when it comes to modern electronica, all fashioned in a very nice dub, jazz and hip hop sense. My subscriptions run out and i'm currently in mourning.

Other fine artists/musicians/soundsculptors, whatever u want to call them, are the likes of:

Pan sonic, Fursaxa, doldrums, pimmon, white winged moth, chessie, u.s maple, kazumoto endo, the dead c, the strokes, kyuss, codein, acid mothers temple, noxagt, jarboli, darkwood dub, pavement, eva braun, slede zive slede, dunaj, melt bannana john coltrane, archie shepp, charles mingus, amm - etc etc

Am a big fan of all genres and styles of musak. Looking forward to hearing new releases by lsd march, birchville cat motel, tsurubami, smog, carl stone, set fire to flames and anything on the constellation label and anticon.

And am a big fan of lo-fi home recordings that have never been released nor will, probably, ever be released.
