I'll stop playing GTA 3

I didn't think I'd ever say something like that, but I'll probably stop playing GTA 3 because it's too violent.

In the past decade I have decimated gazillions of virtual monsters and villains with every kind of weapon you could imagine. I have fought in every bloodshed of mankind's history. I have commanded fleets the size of solar systems in epic battles for the destiny of the galaxy, without ever turning a hair.

GTA is different. In the games I use to play there's always a clear distinction between good and bad. Here you go, Gordon Freeman, you're the good guy. Now fight off the alien invasion and save mankind! This is how it goes.

But, as I said, GTA is different. It's virtually impossible to complete a mission in GTA without running over at least 20 innocent passers-by. You get jobs where you have to murder innocents. You have to kill policemen as to not get caught and fail the mission.

Adding to this is that the game looks so freaking real and gives you almost total freedom. No levels, no stages, just this really big city where you're allowed to roam and do as you wish.

All this seriously begins to trouble me. This is the first game I ever feared might be able to mix with reality in a moony minute.

Maybe it's wise to pull the plug now and go back to saving the galaxy.
