Re: Geek factor

Right now only two people on this planet know what Geek Factor means and I don't really feel like increasing that number :)

I dropped enough hints already!

Hmm. It's strange this geek factor. In the beginning I've always been relatively high and now it's around zero or something.

It hasn't to do with ratings, visits of the sites, number of posts and so on... Hmm, what is it then? Jaz' personal vie of things? ;-)

Re: Geek factor

All I want to say about this is: While I could theoretically alter the geek factor of someone, I have never done this. The geek factor is generated 100% automatically.

Re: Geek factor

Ah! I'm so curious! Has it to do with one's voting??? No, it doesn't, does it? Hmmm... Grummel... I can't believe it.

Re: Geek factor

I see this is a hot topic, so let's start the wild guessing once again. :-)

My guess is that it somehow collects "geeky" and "ungeeky" things you do. This might be:

* which forums you visit often (or, more likely, which forums you post in, as my geek factor seems to change after each post I've made), or
* certain words you use (e.g. "Linux", "browser", "distro" might earn you geekpoints), or
* Jaz has found a way to somehow read our minds and determine the geekiness of our thoughts.

Any other ideas?

Jaz, couldn't you at least say something like "warm" or "cold"? :-)

I've pretty much given up on it. I suppose I'm just not geeky enough.

IMHO, a geek is someone doing tech stuff for the love of doing tech stuff.

Re: Geek factor

IMHO http://www.geekcode.com provides a nice summary of geeky properties and behaviours. If most of the categories there apply to you, you're probably a geek. :-)
