Yup, I bought a MAC. IMAC to be exact. Let me tell you, this thing is a peice of art. Turn it on, works prefectly...plug stuff in, stuff works right away. And its just so goddamn pretty...I wanna KISS it!
I am so content with this machine. Too bad I bought the IPOD a couple of months ago that runs on windows. Oh well, I'm sure theres a way around that.
Hey, does anyone know any good MP3 programs capatible w/Macs that isnt Limewire? Hmmm, time to go to bed now and think of all the great things I can say about my Mac to my co-workers tommorro morning.

I couldn't help but smile while reading your post.
To add something productive, Tucows offers 3 file sharing tools, all of which seem to be Gnutella-based. I've heard of others (like Macster) but don't have any first-hand experience.
Does the IPod have a FireWire or USB connector?
Have fun with your new toy! :-)

Sorry, I forgot to reply to this post. :-)
AFAIK every new Mac has a Firewire connector, so you should be able to just plug it in and start using it. Have you tried yet, and if yes (and it doesn't work*), what exactly happens?

FYI: some people managed it to get linux running on ipod. only thing it currently can do is playing mp3s, but there are other applications in development.
.. just a side-note from a friend of mine who got an iPod himself. and after Mac OS X is Linux-based, there shouldnt be much trouble then in connecting it with your iPod ;)
