Whatever is in any way beautiful hath its source of beauty in itself, and is complete in itself; praise forms no part of it. So it is none the worse nor the better for being praised. How could something get good by praise or bad by blame? Does an emerald lose some of it's worth, just by being not praised? Or gold, ivory, crimson, a knife, a flower or a tree?
